Summer Youth Improvisation Program 2007
The Summer Youth Improvisation Program is our popular, long running two-week summer improv camp for youth ages 12 - 17. In this class students learn
the basics of improvisation, as well as some advanced improvisation games and performance structures. Our improv workshops for youth focus on creating a fun and safe environment for all participants. We place great
emphasis on team work, respect and sharing space, while at the same time ensuring students have a great time! The workshop ends with a show for family and friends. This is a great class for kids who want to really dig in, learn a lot of improvisation and meet some new friends. This summer we are offering this program twice.
Both sets of weeks are the same curriculum.

ABOUT BNI YOUTH IMPROVISATION & SKETCH COMEDY PROGRAMS
(Assisted in part by the Jerome S. and Grace H. Murray Foundation)

We participate in the Hennepin County Campership Fund Program. If you are involved with approved Hennepin County programs, you may be eligible to have part of your tuition covered to one of our youth programs via the Campership Fund. Check with your social worker.

The BNI Teen Performance Team
... is our advanced program for teens who have participated in other BNI programs. The Teen Troupe meets weekly throughout the year (currently on Sundays) and typically performs once or more a month. This troupe works independently with their director to establish their own goals, and create their own performance style.

BNI Teen Performance Troupes in the past have created and performed sketch comedy shows for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, have attended improv festivals in Chicago, and have created their own improvisation structures.

Interested teens should first participate in other BNI programs to test their interest in improvisation.
You must have completed the Summer Youth Camp in order to be considered for the Teen Troupe. To get more information, contact John at the BNW at (612) 332-6620, x205.

Cost Varies, but typically $60 a month
Prerequisites 13 - 17 years old, guardian/parent release form required, participation in previous BNI programs required
